1) 日本のマナー・ハウス / Japanese Manor House
鎌倉には、複数の鎌倉には、複数の谷戸 (ヤト)と呼ばれる、人々が
生活を営んでいる谷間があります。
その中の1つに、洋館："旧華頂宮邸 (キュウカチョウノミヤテイ)" が建っています。
洋館はハーフティンバー様式(木骨造)で庭もあります。
日本のマナー・ハウスのようであると私は思います。
似たような家としては、鎌倉には、鎌倉文学館があります。
鎌倉文学館・旧華頂宮邸 ・古河邸 (現在はレストラン) は、
"鎌倉三大洋館" と呼ばれています。
"旧華頂宮邸" は、周囲の家々とは全く趣が違うので、何も知らずに
その洋館を見つけると、
「なぜここに？」
「誰が住んでいるの？」
と疑問を抱きます。
少なくとも、最初に私がこの洋館を見たときは、そんな疑問を持ちましたし、何か不思議な感じがしました。
(カチョウノミヤヒロノブ / 1905 - 1970 / 侯爵 : 1926 - 1947)
として建てられた洋館で、国の登録有形文化財になっています。
鎌倉市の景観重要建築物等にも指定されています。
1996年に鎌倉市が土地と建物を取得しました。
(寄付されています)
庭園部分が一般に公開されています。
庭の見学だけでも、敷地の表門から入り、建物の玄関や建物全体を外から見ることができますので、お屋敷の雰囲気は楽しめます。
私と夫Rは、庭には複数回訪れています。
館内は、年に数回のみの一般公開です。
私は公式サイト：★で、公開の日を確認し、2019年10月6日に出かけました。

Japanese Manor House
In Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, there are several valleys called Yato, where people live.
One of the valleys has the Western-style building :
"Kyu-Kachōnomiya-tei" ; Former Residence of Marquis Kachōnomiya.
The Western-style building is half-timbered and has a garden.
I think it's like a Japanese Manor house.
As a similar former house, Kamakura also has the Kamakura Museum of Literature.
The Kamakura Literature Museum, "Kyu-Kachōnomiya-tei", and the Koga Residence (now a restaurant) are called the "Kamakura Three Great Western-style Buildings".

"Kyu-Kachōnomiya-tei" is completely different from the surrounding houses, so if you find the House without knowing anything, you have questions,
"Why here?"
"Who lives here?"
At least when I first saw this House I had these questions and felt something mysterious.
"Kyu-Kachōnomiya-tei" is a Western-style building built in 1929 (completion in 1931) as the residence of
the Marquis Kachō Hironobu (1905 - 1970 / Marquis : 1926 - 1947)
and is one of the nationally registered Tangible Cultural Properties.
It is also designated as an important landscape structure in Kamakura City.
In 1996 the land and building were donated to Kamakura City, and the garden part is open to the public as the "Kyu-Kachōnomiya-tei".
Even though you just see the garden, you can enjoy the atmosphere of the House, because you can enter from the main gate of the site and see the entrance, the entire building and the facade from the garden.
I and my husband R have visited the garden a few times.
The House is open to the public only a few times a year.
I checked the open dates on the official website : ★ and we headed there on 6th of October, 2019.

Kachō Hironobu, 1925
(1905 - 1970 / Marquis : 1926 - 1947)
Marquis Kachō Hironobu was born in Fushimi-no-miya ;
branch of the Japanese Imperial family : Imperial House of Japan
and later became a Kazoku (Japanese aristocrat) ;
the hereditary peerage of the Empire of Japan,
which existed between 1869 and 1947.
He became the Marquis in 1926.
In the same year, he married Hanako. Divorced with his wife Hanako in 1951 which was the first divorce of the former royal family. After that, he married another woman and went to the United States to study psychology.

2) お屋敷まで / To the House
 京急バスりんどう号 鎌倉駅から浄明寺バス停下車。 ラッキーにも、"京急りんどう号"でした。 後ろ姿ですが撮影できて嬉しい！ 初代りんどう号は1992年〜2006年の間運行されていました。 これは、2008年、京浜急行電鉄の創立110周年を記念して 登場した2代目です。 ナンバープレートも110! 館までバス停浄明寺から徒歩4分 Luckily, it was the "Keikyu Rindo". Even though this is only its back, I'm still happy to be able to photograph! The first Rindo was in service between 1992 and 2006. This is the second generation that appeared in 2008 to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Keikyu Corporation. The license plate is also 110!Rindo means Japanese gentian. To the House, 4 minutes walk from the bus stop Jōmyō-ji Temple. |

ハーフティンバー様式(木骨造)の特徴が見られます。
もちろん正面にもこの特徴は見ることができます。

何回も焦点がない写真を撮りつつも、このことは続けています。
ここで撮影した写真のほとんども失敗作 (涙)。

鎌倉文学館同様に、靴を脱いで入館します。
鎌倉文学館は下駄箱がありますが、ここはないので、
靴はビニール袋に入れて持ち運びます。
(ビニール袋は用意する必要はありません）
Entrance
As with the Kamakura Museum of Literature, take off your shoes and enter.
The Museum has shoe boxes, but there is no shoe box here,
so you should carry your shoes in a plastic bag.
(No need to prepare a plastic bag)

5) 2階から / From First Floor
見学順路が、まずは2階からになります。
屋敷の調度品は、保存されていないので、館内は空っぽの雰囲気がします。
なので、いくつかの部屋では、鎌倉での貴重な建築物や植物が紹介されています。
何人かのボランティアがスタッフとしていらっしゃる場合は、説明してくれます。
調度品があまりないことで、ドラマなどのロケ地としては使い易いのかもしれません。
常時一般公開されていないことも、撮影側にとっては便利なのでしょう。

From First Floor
The tour route starts from the first floor.
The furnishings of the mansion are not preserved, so the inside has an empty atmosphere.
So, in some rooms, you can see the precious buildings and plants in Kamakura.
If some volunteers are available, they will explain.
Since there are not many furnishings, it may be easy to use as a location for dramas.
It may be convenient for filming since it is not open to the public at all times.

玄関側の和室 洋館にも和室があるのですね〜。 召使の部屋だったのでしょうか？ 庭側の和室 (下の画像) にはマントルピースがあり、 不思議な雰囲気です。

コーヒー
ネルドリップを使用して丁寧にいれられたコーヒーです。 代金は自由。 寄付の意味を込めて、私達は2杯分として2.000円払いました。 今までに私達は、無料の庭だけの見学を数回しています。 その時も寄附金箱にはコインをいれていました。 見学を始めた当初、あまりに荒れた感じで心配をしたからです。 次に訪れた時にほんの少しでもよくなっていた時は 嬉しかったです。 Coffee The room that was originally a dining room was the main cafe. These coffees were carefully brewed using Neldrip. The price is free. With the meaning of donation, we paid ¥2.000 for two cups. To date, we have had several free garden-only tours. At that time, I was still putting coins in the donation box. When I first visited the garden, I was worried because I felt here was not being maintained.
