左が '東海館 ' (四角い塔付き)、右が'ケイズハウス' (ドーム付き)

ケイズハウスは、国の有形文化財ですが、温泉ホステルなので、
一般に泊まることができます。
ここに泊まってみたいですが、洋室がなさそうなので、私には無理です。

両方の建物とも、稲葉惣次郎氏によって、建てられました。

'K's House' is a Tangible Cultural Property,
although they manage here as a spa hostel.
I would stay here next time, however,
all rooms are Japanese type so I cannot stay.

"松川遊歩道"のカフェ
散策の最後にカフェへと思い、松川遊歩道に位置する
ブティック兼カフェに入りました。
そこからは東海館がよく見え、カフェのオーナーさんに東海館について聞きますと、一般公開されていて内部見学ができるということがわかりました。
残された時間をカフェでゆっくりしようと思っていたのですが、
それを知り慌ただしく一杯のコーヒーを飲み干し、東海館へ向かいました。

We
thought the last of our walking was a cafe, and we went to a boutique
cafe on "Matsukawa
Yuhodo" : "Matsukawa Promenade".
We
could see 'Tōkaikan' well
from the cafe, so I asked the owner about it,
Ito

as a public museum,
and we
can see inside.
Then
we had the cups of coffee quickly and went to 'Tōkaikan'.

B. 元は温泉旅館

東海館（伊東市指定文化財 旧木造温泉旅館東海館）
週末、祝日には温泉にも入れるようです。(有料)

東海館は大正末期から昭和初期の温泉情緒を残す木造三階建ての温泉旅館でした。
1928年に創業、1938年頃、1949年頃に望楼の増築など、幾度かの増改築を行いながら旅館業を営んでいましたが、1997年、70年近く続いた旅館の長い歴史に幕を下ろしました。
その後、伊東市に寄贈され、1999年には、市の文化財に指定されました。
1911年から2001年にかけて保存改修工事が行われ、伊東温泉観光・文化施設
『東海館』として開館しました。
A Former 'Hot Spring Ryokan' : 'Japanese Spa Hotel'
Tōkaikan was built in 1928 in central Ito
City and
was further expanded twice in 1938 and 1949.
Tōkaikan operated as a ryokan until 1997 before undergoing
restoration works and then reopened in 2001 as a historical and
cultural sightseeing spot open to the public.
The
three-story building was constructed by master Japanese craftsmen
with high quality wood.
Visitors
can view the ryokan's former guest rooms with their intricate wood
carvings.
A
few rooms exhibit historical artifacts and explain the building's
history.

創業者の稲葉安太郎氏は、材木店を営みながら、国内外の高級な木材を集め、この旅館ではそれらの形や木目などの美しく質の良い木材などがたくさん使われています。
1939年頃に建築された部分では3人の棟梁を各階ごとに競作させたこともあり、廊下の飾り窓や階段の手すりの柱などにそれぞれ違った職人の技と凝った意匠を見ることができます。
The founder, Yasutaro Inaba (? - ?) owned, managed a timber merchant and he collected good timbers from Japan and abroad which were used for the buildings.
In 1939, some parts were repaired by three Japanese master craftsmen who were each responsible for one of the three floors, encouraging them to be competitive.
You can see beautiful woodwork there.

欄間 (ランマ) の写真もいくつか撮りましたが、みなぼけてしまいました。
I photographed a few Ranma which are
openwork screens above
the sliding partitions between two rooms.
But all of them, no focus.

His statues of 'William Adams' and 'San Buena Ventura'
are located along the seaside too.
I feel his statues pop out from Cubism pictures. |

黒船電車

The Black Ship Train
最初は蒸気機関車をイメージした電車かと思ったのですが、
撮影しているうちに、黒船をイメージした「黒船電車」と気づきました。
To begin with I thought the idea came from an steam engine and
this was pretending to be a modern steam locomotive, however,
while I was photographing I realized this is
"Kurofune Train" : "The Black Ship Train".

2004年、下田開港150周年を記念して走り始めました。
The Black Ship Train started running in 2004 which was
the 150th anniversary of Shimoda port opening.

3) 旅の終わりに / At the end of the trip
体調がすぐれませんでしたが、'サボテン公園'や'花の公園'にも行き、日頃出会わない動物や鳥、珍しいサボテン、美しい富士山なども見ました。
本来の目的の休養にはならなかったかもしれませんが、いろいろな刺激になりました。
願わくば、頭の活性化にはなってくれていたらと....
ブログで資料 (写真含む) の整理をしたり、立ち止まってちょっと考えたりすることは、私にとって、とても良い事と、今のところ、思っています。
何か作りたいぞ〜、スケッチブック代わりのブログをそろそろ控えて、創作してゆきたいぞ〜という気持ちが少しずつ湧いてきています。
春の到来とともに、硬くなった体をみしみし伸ばして始められたらいいな〜....
At the end of the trip
While I had a short walk with British R, I came across many things, British William Adams (1564 - 1620), Sakoku ; 'closed country', Rieti in Italy and others and I had a feeling of wonder and complicated feelings.
My
body was not good, but I still went to 'Shaboten Park' : 'Cactus Park' and the 'Flower Park' and I saw unusual animals and birds which I met, and looked at unusual cacti and beautiful Mount Fuji.
I might not have achieved my original purpose, a rest, however, I had a lot of stimulation in various ways.
Hopefully, my brain was activated....
For now, I think it is very good that I tidy up the data including photographs and I stopped to think about something while doing my blog.
My feeling becomes that I would make something, I will do less blog and create things.
I hope with the coming of spring, my body will stretch, smooth out and then Start!...
